Introduction
Songaksan Mountain is a parasitic volcano in Sanisoo-dong, Sangmo-ri, Daejeong-eup. A paved road leads to the top of the mountain from Sanisoo-dong Harbor. It is also known as Jeomuree. Along with Sanbangsan Mountain, Yongmeori Tuff Ring, and Dan Mountain, it is a very important clue to the geological formation of Jeju.
Songaksan Mountain has a double crater. One is 500 meters in diameter and 1.7 kilometers in circumference. The second crater is inside the first crater, and it is 400 meters in diameter and 67 meters in circumference.
The surrounding area was crucial to the Japanese war effort during World War II as the Japanese invaded China. Remnants of a Japanese airport and aircraft hangar exist to this day.
