Introduction
Jeju Hyanggyo is a national educational institution built for the education of the local people and paying tribute and ancestral rites to Confucius and other old sages. It is Jeju’s tangible cultural asset no. 2. It was built during the first king of the Joseon Dynasty in 1392 and then it was moved inside the Jeju Castle. After that it was shifted to the present place at the time of Sunjo in 1827. Currently, Myeongryundang where students studied, and Daesungjeon and Kyesung Temple which were ritual places are still in the institution
